Singaraja, October 9, 2024 – Students from the Faculty of Sports and Health (FOK) at Ganesha University of Education had the esteemed opportunity to take part in the “Harnessing the Power of Sports and its Values to Strengthen Social Cohesion and Impact on Community Resilience.” This prestigious event was held at the Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel, Badung, Bali, from October 1 to 3, 2024. Fifteen selected students from FOK actively participated in this event, along with leaders of the Faculty of Sports and Health (FOK). The attendees included the Dean of the Faculty of Sports and Health (FOK), (Dr. I Ketut Yoda, S.Pd., M.Or.), Vice Dean I (Dr. I Gede Suwiwa, S.Pd., M.Pd.), and Vice Dean III (I Made Satyawan, S.Pd., M.Pd.).
Organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora RI) and the United Nations Office of Counter-terrorism (UNOCT), the seminar explored important discussions on leveraging sports as a powerful media to foster social connections and resilience. One of the highlighted outcomes of the event was future incorporation of Safeguarding Principles into the Indonesian football coaching curriculum. The seminar brought together over a hundred participants, including security officers from Liga 1 and Liga 2 football clubs, academics, representatives from Asprov PSSI, and other sports stakeholders.
This participation marked a proud moment for both the students and lecturers involved, providing valuable insights and experiences. It is hoped that this event will inspire other FOK Undiksha students and faculty members to actively engage in similar events, thereby enhancing the faculty’s reputation and excellence on a global stage.
